San Francisco—PlanX Social Innovation Lab startup ClubInternet is a Pakistani technology social enterprise geared towards connecting the 4.2 billion global unconnected to the Internet through human centered digital literacy & social platforms. The startup was founded in 2014 by a team of technologists, engineers and business school graduates, namely Hassan Baig Sophia Pervez , Shahbaz Ali khan and Fahad Rao (LUMS alumni) this month, ClubInternet became the first Pakistani startup to be invited by Mark Zuckerberg (Founder Facebook) for a closeddoor meeting at the recently concluded F8 conference in San Francisco.
This meeting included around 10 other techleaders from companies the likes of Tesla, Amazon, Saavn and others. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the future of technology and its role in evolving emerging markets. Their meeting with Zuckerberg revolved around the theme of ‘Connecting the Unconnected’, an idea quite close to Zuckerberg’s heart. PlanX is the technology accelerator of the Punjab Information Technology Board. It empowers commercially viable midstage tech startups by providing access to multiple funding channels, specialized network of mentors and global exposure to establish high impact businesses.
